So you can spin a continuous yarn on your spindle and you know how to ply. What next?
This class will show you a number of small tricks, tips and techniques for getting more out of your spindling time. We’ll look at techniques such as the butterfly wind on, how to begin without a leader, and ways of winding your singles onto your spindle. We’ll discuss plying and ways to make it more efficient. We’ll compare top & bottom whorl spindles and also talk about other types of spindles, including supported spindles like the Navajo spindle and tahkli.
Bring your choice of spindle (or spindles) to work on, but other spindles will be available for those who would like to try them (tahkli, Navajo, Turkish, etc.)
