Come join us for a fun overview comparison of the two major yarn types. By the time we’re through, you’ll know the characteristics of each type and how to best produce them both (and hybrids of them, too).
We’ll go through the choices to be made when creating each type (breeds, washing, prep, spinning, finishing). We’ll discuss what each type is good for in terms of end use – and not just end use of items made, but also end use in terms of construction technique (knitting, weaving, crochet, etc.) There will be numerous samples of both types of yarn and finished items for student to examine and compare, and to inspire projects of their own.
Level of Experience: You must be able to spin a continuous yarn and be able to ply to take this class.
