Marled Yarns: Creating Multicolored Yarn at the Wheel LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Do you love multicolored yarns? Marling is a fascinating way to create them right at the wheel - no dyeing, no having to buy fiber that you aren’t sure what you will get when they are spun up. All the control is yours – and with it, an infinite world of color possibilities!

Students will learn how to make the two types of marled yarns while spinning samples using painter’s and printer’s primaries, and white, black & gray for tints, tones & shades. We will discuss basic color theory as it relates, we’ll have plenty of time for spinning samples to take with you (as in the photo), and we’ll talk about what to use the finished yarns for. There will also be plenty of samples, both of yarn and finished items, for students to check out for inspiration for projects of their own.
